Our Patient
What Our Patient Says

Mr. Sri Bhagwan Singh, 82 year old male came to us with blackening of toes of right foot medically known as gangrene. On evaluation, we found that 2 of his 3 main blood vessels that supply the foot were clogged with plaques. And so the blood supply to the foot had drastically reduced. The fingers needed amputation because of the gangrene. But the surgeons were concerned that after amputation, the wound may not heal due to the poor blood supply. Hence we were given reference and we did ngioplasty/ballooning of the vessels that were narrow and they became as good as new. We were aware that the results may not be long lasting or permanent due to the nature of the underlying disease. But nevertheless it helped for the surgery.
Feedback: Counselling was good. Procedure technique was excellent. Doctor behavior and patient care are good

I was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer and was recommended liver transplantation. But i didn’t have a donor and so searched for an alternative. I was informed about this novel treatment of internal chemotherapy called TACE. And the doctors informed me that they would use special particle carriers that would enhance its effects manifold. The procedure was executed efficiently and after a transient period of weakness and deranged liver functions (which i was told about), I recovered well. Thanking the Interventional Radiology team.

Our patient Mrs. Asha Devi was suffering from pain in left knee joint. We had treated the patient’s husband few years back for vascular problem. So, patient came to us for guidance. We did USG and MRI of the left knee and found a fluid filled cyst known as Baker/popliteal cyst as the cause of her pain. We offered her a novel but established treatment
called ‘fenestration of the cyst and medical induction of adheseolysis’. They had faith on the team and so agreed. The procedure was carried out using a small needle and the cyst fluid was aspirated. Few medicines were injected which will prevent formation of the cyst fluid again.
Feedback: Excellent counselling, procedural technique and post procedure care. Very good response by the doctor team and correct suggestions and guidance. We are grateful to start treatment in Jaypee hospital with Dr CPS Chauhan and Dr Gaurav

Our patient Mr. Ujjwal Singh Bohra was diagnosed with osteoid osteoma in right thigh bone. It is a benign mild tumor which is not worrisome but causes lot of pain. He was offered surgical bone curettage and bone plating. But he approached our team and was offered minimally invasive alternative — radiofrequency ablation. The procedure was executed and he was discharged in 24 hours.
Feedback: The pre-procedure counseling and post procedure care were excellent. The procedural technique and anesthesia were also good. The recovery was quick after the procedure.

I was referred to Dr. Gaurav Gangwani by my pulmonologist because I had massive hemoptysis (blood coming from my sputum). He admitted me and explained me about this procedure called ‘bronchial artery embolization’. Along with his team members, they treated me with just a small needle prick in my right thigh/groin. It was exactly like a cardiac angiography. I was awake and didn’t feel a thing after the initial prick. I realized that it was a technically difficult procedure but their effort and patience paid off in the end. I believe a lot on the team now. I am being discharged completely free of my presenting symptoms. Thank you.

My mother came to Jaypee hospital with severe pain and swelling in the left leg and foot. She was diagnosed with venous thrombosis (clot in the veins of left leg). Injections to prevent spread of the clot were started but I had no relief for 2 days. So the case was referred to Dr Chauhan and his team. Dr Chauhan and Dr Anshul Jain used a small needle and plastic sheath and cleared more than 50% of the clot on first day. And started a medicine to melt the clot via the same sheath for 48 hours. After 48 hours, they showed me how the clot burden had gone down by 90%. They in-formed me how this condition was previously managed by the same injec-tions that were having no effect on me. But now they had so many tools in their armamentarium to reduce the clot burden at a very fast rate and give me instant relief. Wishing them all success for their future endeavours in treating patients like me.

I came in with chest infection and because of that was undergoing episodes of blood in my sputum. But Dr Gaurav and his team of-fered us this excellent treatment called ‘bronchial artery emboliza-tion’. After the treatment, I was asked for any negative feedback or suggestions for improvement by the team but I really have none. Very good work.

Mr. Narender Tyagi- U.B India (09/03/2019)

I came to Jaypee hospital for getting kidney transplantation done. But before procedure due to chest pain, they did my cardi-ac angiography and informed me that all my heart vessels were clogged. Along with that I also developed blackening of 2 toes of my right foot. I was recommended a cardiac bypass and interven-tional treatment for my foot blood vessels. Dr Chauhan and his team did angioplasty (balloon dilatation) for my foot arteries and opened up one of them and that gave me significant relief in the pain and blackening I had. Now I can proceed for the cardiac bypass and kidney operations without any stress. Gratitude for the team.

Excellent team of doctors in interventional radiology team. Special thanks to Dr. CPS Chauhan, Dr. Dhirendra Pratap Singh and their team co-ordinator Mr Eby Thomas. I underwent liver trans- plantation for liver cancer few months back and was devastated to know that the cancer has recurred back in the right lung in form of a small area. I was so apprehensive to undergo a second surgery for removing a part of my lung. But Dr Chauhan’s team offered me this option of thermal ablation by just a needle. I re-covered within a few minutes after the procedure and am very happy and grateful.

Mrs. Gianchimeg Miya- Mongolia (27/02/2019)

I was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer which was labeled aggressive after PET CT and blood tests. Surgery and liver transplantation were not op-
tions nor were any alternative interventions. But the innovative team explained about the option of internal radiotherapy via the angiography route. The procedure was well planned and executed to utmost perfection. They asked me for any negative feedback of areas of improvement but i really have none to suggest. Overall, a very good team dedicated to their patient care. From an impossible way to treat i now have been given the option of a potential liver transplantation by this minimally invasive bridging therapy.

Oleiwi Naser Ibrahim- Baghdad, Iraq (22/02/2019)

I was diagnosed with a aneurysm arising from a blood vessel in my brain. After talking to doctors, I understood that it needs urgent treatment because if it ruptures, it can be life threatening. After talking to Dr Chauhan and Dr Anshul, I realized that it can be treated without surgical clipping by a small needle via my groin. After the operation, when I woke up I was informed that it took 7 hours for the procedure. The operation had a lot of technical challenges but the team executed it very well. The doctors are very kind and i like thier behavious. Everything during the course of treatment was cool. My gratitude to the team.

Mrs. Bibi Hakima- Afghanistan (23/02/2019)

| was diagnosed with HCC recently and due to medical co-morbidities, surgery and trans-arterial therapies were not valid options. But I thank Dr CPS Chauhan and his team for giving the option of minimally invasive thermal needle ablation. Dr Chauhan and his team was very proactive. They heard our problems carefully and tried to explain in best way they could. Transparency and communication pre/post procedure was highly appreciated. Please keep up the good work. However, would like to bring to notice of the team the lack of communication and clarity between other teams involved especially anesthesia. For any suggestions of improvement, all we want to
say is keep up the good work.

S.Agnihotri (Retd) — Delhi, India (16/02/2019)

After liver transplantation, | developed bile duct stricture and was facing lot of problem. I was so apprehensive that a repeat surgery would have to be done for restoration of bile flow. But Dr. CPS Chauhan and his team came forward with a minimally invasive solution. They performed a procedure known as PTBD and opened up my stricture and also inserted a plastic stent. I was told that this is usually a
two-step procedure done with help of endoscopy. But the doctors in the intervention team performed it in one go. The procedure technique was excellent.

legs. And i was very apprehensive to go under the knife. But after talking to Dr Gaurav Gangwani in the intervention team, I was convinced to get laser ablation and foam sclero-
therapy done. I feel so relieved I talked to them and went ahead with the procedure. All the doctors and staff in the team were very co-operative.
